Fanuc-loading from pc-card to machine

Fri, 06/04/2010 - 09:54
Same problem here
we got a used machine and had to have fanuc come out to work out the rs-232 issues, turns out the flash card loads 15 times faster, even at this reduced write speed!
First, we bought and tried a sandisk ultra-2 2 gb with a write speed of 100x and it wouldnt work, found an older 1 with 15 mb/s write speed and that works fine,i use it in a compact flash
adapter.
I was told and has been true so far the memory is not the factor, but its is the write speed!
Good luck

a) It could be that the lcd monitor connected at the vga port is interfering with the system configuration. If you unplug it and turn the machine ON again, without any monitor at all, could you tell if the system boots ok? Perhaps looking if the red error light(s) go away?

b) If the original CRT and the lcd monitor are hooked to a video card, try the same as above, but with the card being pulled out.

b) When the system shows the STACK error, can you still access other screens or functions? There is a service function called ISTACK (Interrupt stack) that shows some abreviations meaning where the problem is. This screen can be seen thru the PG, but if you can not get communications...

d) The file(s) with extension .S5D are the PLC ladder files, in that format you can only tranfer them to the plc using a PG, but as above, if no communications...

I can not find any drawings in my computer so not 100%sure.

Possibility

1. Faulty gear shift solenoide valve. from my memory mori used air solenoide
for gear shifter.
2. Check Hi/Lo Gear tooth edge possibly damaged this case gear shifter try
to move up or down but mechanically not able to shift.

3. upto speed signal is not send from SP. Controller.

usually case 1 or 2

nakamura-tome & lns bar feed problem

Wed, 06/02/2010 - 19:42
I also install bar feeders similar in nature to the LNS quick load servo. I am surprised the installer did not give you a sample program to use with it, as how it is interfaced can affects how you need to program the lathe. Usually the Bar feeder tells the lathe when it is out of material not the lathe telling the bar feeder. On the Nakamuras I have seen with Fanucs but not that particular model, the bar feeds end of bar signal turns the block skip (block delete) button off. So in the lathe program you put something like "/M99 P2000" or "/M98 P2000". The P2000 point to either a line number N2000 or sub-program number O2000. If you use the M99 it will jump to line number N2000 when the end of bar signal is sent from the LNS to the lathe. If you use the M98 then it will jump to a sub-program number O2000. Then where it jumps to you would need sufficient lines of code to allow the bar feed to load the new bar. These lines of code depend again on interfacing and the particular job you are running.

Circular interpolation problem

Tue, 06/01/2010 - 08:41
Using an indicator locate which axis is causing the problem. place the indicator at the end of the ball screw and rotate the screw manually both directions. If you see some shifting then you have bad bearings. Ensure the bolts that mount the ball nut are tight. With that much error I would suspect a purely mechanical problem. One other possibilty is if the machine has glass scales for position feedback, the read head could be loose.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck!

Spindle wont index on tool change

Tue, 06/01/2010 - 08:31
Just a thought. It could be a similar problem as when a new axis reference switch is installed. On some machines if the offset end up to close to the Z channel of the encoder you need to shift the switch. The Z channel may be to close. Try rotating the encoder 90 ~ 180 degrees and reset up the orientation position. Also just a nother thought came to me. The current sent out to the motor to rotate the spindle is very low. You may want to check out the voltage as well. Just speculations. Hope they give you a different way to look at the problem.
Good luck!

Select machines

Tue, 06/01/2010 - 03:28
Hello
I want buy some machines for my work shop but i don't know what kind if machine is better and is more suitable for my job.

I make injection mold.
I want use high feed rate machining(high efficiency machining).
I write in below some detail of my machining specification on two method :

First method:
1- rough machining a 26"×28" mold base made of P-20 steel (28 to 32 HRC),
machining time 4 hours,Payment programmed the trochoidal tool path in CAM software,

Solid carbide 16-dim cutter-5 Flute End mill
Spindle speed :6000 RPM
Feed rate : 6000 MM/MIN
radial Wide Of Cut: 1.3 MM
Axis Depth Of Cut :33.7MM

second method:

2- Pocket roughing of 4140PH material
Tool: 25-dia End mill
Spindle speed: 3400 RPM
Depth of cut: 1 MM
Wide of cut: 19mm
Feed rate: 5200 MM/Min

please tell me what kind of below machines is the best for my job? Please advise me by classification?

1-http://www.finetech.com.tw/e-html/box-850.html
2-http://www.finetech.com.tw/e-html/ro1ler-850a.html
3-http://www.finetech.com.tw/e-html/ep02-03.html
4-http://www.finetech.com.tw/e-html/sml-1045-1.html

Also please tell me what wind of machines is better for these tow method(Box way -Liner way-ball way-high speed machines)?
Attention please that i want use this machine for several years by this method.
Does i need two machine for roughing and finishing or not?
I will be happy more if you help me by your information about your machines and your method to below address :

Zero return

Sat, 05/29/2010 - 05:40
you might also try to home out the machine at 25% or even slower, also make sure you try moving your axis farther from zero before trying to home not sure on your machine but some older machines you have to move your axis at least a couple of inches away from zero before trying to home. make sure your switches and actuator are clean. you could also try to
p-can your machine at power up, with machine control off press and hold the letter "p" and the "can" button at the same time and power your control up holding the buttons until the machine boots up completely then move your axis and try to zero return.

mcfv 1260 tool change problem

Mon, 05/24/2010 - 19:11
Ok we have a tool change problem with this machine now. We just changed the scanning head set to .005" from exciter wheel. We only use two tools on this machine so it uses the same pot to change between tools. The machine will do a proper tool change at the end of the program but will not do a tool change during the middle of the program. The machine will sit there doing nothing until we get a hydraulic motor overload fault (tool change has to occur within 1 minute or fault comes up). I went through the program and looks good just don't know why it does one tool change and not another. If anybody has a solution or a way to troubleshoot I would appreciate it.

Over Travel Alarm

check the number in your g110 Z also where is z zero on your part Z-16. is a long way down I normaly set zero on the top of my part makes me think that Z-16. is from your spindle to the top of your part? I dont think a Vf3 has much more travle than 16" in Z thats why it seems odd
